We’re Age UK and we’re here to make sure every older person feels included and valued. Whether it’s providing free information and advice, tackling loneliness and isolation or campaigning for older people’s rights – we’ll be there. Your support makes it possible.

Story

As many of you will know by now, I have decided that the crazy challenge I have set myself for 2014 is to run the London Marathon. I say run, but I could very well end up crawling or being dragged over the finish line. What ever way, I will finish!

I am no natural athlete and I know competing and running 26.2 miles will take all the physical and mental stamina I can muster. I have for some time set my sights on completing the marathon, and this year I was lucky enough to get a place through AgeUK.

AgeUK is a fantastic charity that help support and care for elderly people around the UK, with the mission of improving later life for many old people who have no other family or friends to turn to. All donations that I receive will go directly to AgeUK and I know they will be grateful for any donation large or small.

Thank you very much for reading my charity page and I really do appreciate all the support and enthusiasm from everyone so far. Don't forget if you are around on the 13th April 2014, do come along and support me and the thousands of other runners.

Much love

Harriet
