London Marathon - 2023 in memory of Vicky Plummer

London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April of this year my family received some terrible news that would change our lives forever. A much loved member of the family Vicky was diagnosed with cancer. it was a shock to us all. This was the start of Vicky's battle that she would give everything to try and overcome.
Vicky was a very active and happy person, she would rarely be seen without a smile on her face and always made time for everyone. Vicky spent her days doing the job she loved as a postie. joined on her daily rounds by her partner of 11 years Warren whom also was a postie. Vick would always be loving and joking as she went on her way. Vick had a keen eye for arts and crafts and was always working on something new. whether that be a new jumper with a printed logo on the front for warren, or a personalised coffee mug, Vick would turn her hand to it all.
Vicky was a devoted mum to her three sons, Adam, jack and Jamie. as well as loving step mom to Amelia and Karis. She loved her grandkids Ivy and Ronnie more than life itself. she was fondly known to them as 'Micky' and would see them at every chance she would get.
it was in April this year Vicky received the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma lung cancer. on the 26th of June this year only 3 months after receiving a diagnosis Vicky lost her battle with cancer. Surrounded by those she loved she spent her final days in the care of the team at St Michaels Hospice.
Thanks to the Hospice Vick was able to have some comfort in her last days. surrounded by her family in beautiful, peaceful gardens. The comfort provided by St Michaels helped to bring some peace knowing Vick was in the best place she could be.
Vick always had so much love to give and that was clear to all those around her. Inspired by her love, I will be running the London marathon in her name and honour. donating all proceeds to St Michaels Hospice to make sure the next person in Vicky's position continues to get the same level of care and support she got.
My Partner and I, Amelia look forward to bringing our own baby girl into the world in February 2023, something Vicky unfortunately never knew but she would off been so mightily excited for. Although our baby girl will never get to meet Vicky she certainly will know who she was and the love she had to give.
Thank you for taking the time to read Vicks story. Please donate what you can. However big or small.
Personally I look forward to this challenge as I know how hard it will be. To all those who support me, thank you, I'll do my best to make you all proud.
Stay tuned across my social media's for all training and running updates.
Much love
Harry.
