Vélo Birmingham & Midlands (formerly Vélo Birmingham) is returning on Sunday May 12th 2019, on International Nurses Day, with an epic new 100 mile closed road route & as an official charity partner Cure Leukaemia is set to have a big team once again!

Story

Our son Harrison was diagnosed with a rare childhood form of leukaemia called Philadelphia Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in October 2016.  We have witnessed first hand the pain, suffering and difficulty this illness brings, and would like to do our bit to help eradicate blood cancer.

We have already worked alongside Cure Leukaemia to help raise vital funds for the work they are doing in their fight to find a cure once and for all.  Through their work many patients have access to treatments they would not otherwise have.  We want to help raise more funds for  these trials and ultimately find the cure and end the suffering.

Neither of us currently own a bike so this will be a massive challenge for us to go from zero to 100 miles.  We have witnessed the challenges blood cancer patients face and have the mind-set if they can do the things that they do, day in and day out then we can put ourselves through a 100 mile bike ride.

Inspired by our son and many others we have met, we do hope that you can support us in this very worthwhile cause.

Many thanks

Steph & Derek (Harrison's parents)
