Story

Dan Gunn a much respected and beloved Colleague passed away
in June this year after a long battle against cancer, to mark this we are going to do a memorial walk on 05/11 at Ferry Meadows, Peterborough. Dan worked for Hastings Direct for over 12 Years and indeed won Team leader of the Year award in 2021 which though he was unable to attend due to his illness meant so much to him. For those of us lucky enough to know Dan we also know how thoroughly he deserved this.

Dan was passionate about people and helping them develop
throughout his time with us and was a very good friend to a lot of us, words really can’t explain someone like Dan. For those that are able to join we look forward to seeing you on this day where we can celebrate being lucky enough to have known him.

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity
supports people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end-of-life care. Its ‘Outstanding’ services, which will cost £11.51 million in 2022/2023, are provided free of charge to patients and their families.
Income from NHS contracted services is budgeted at £7.07 million, meaning that £4.44 million needs to be raised through donations, fundraising activities and trading. The Charity is extremely grateful to Hastings Direct colleagues for the commitment and generosity they show in supporting the charity to meet this
target, in turn helping many more patients and families across the
county.

Katy Abraham-Hall, Corporate Partnerships Lead, from Arthur Rank Hospice Charity said ‘It sounds like a wonderful event being put on by the team at Hastings Direct and a special way for the team to come together to remember their colleague, Dan. I hope it is a comfort to know that the money that will be raised in Dan’s name will help ensure that future patients, and their loved ones, can continue to access valuable support and services when they need it.”
