Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm raising money in honour of my late father Robert Jones, Professor of Old Age Psychiatry at the University of Nottingham Medical School as well as the QMC.

Although he didn't see a very late age himself passing just before reaching 70 he worked tirelessly for the Radford Care Group as well as a number of other sites for many years-striving for the dignity and benefit of those most vulnerable during their old age. He particularly tried to help those suffering with dementia.

Radford Care group is a community focused organisation whom try to do just that too. With some great people there who give a lot to the organisation. It is time for them to move into a new building and so I'm taking part in order to try and help this happening sooner. I believe that money that we raise might be match funded - so you can possibly consider what you give being doubled.. which is a good idea.

My father struggled through his later working life whilst neglecting to explain that he had progressive MS which is a testament to his strength and resolve.

About the charity

Our aim is to alleviate loneliness in older people, whether they be independent or have care support needs such as dementia. We do this by ensuring they and their carers belong within the community, have better access to quality care, support, and information, to improve their health and wellbeing.
