When the opportunity to do this passed my desk, I couldn’t say no.

I’ve been working for the Sally Army for just over 4 years, with the last 2 in the Modern Slavery Team. We co-ordinate a UK-wide network of providers, who deliver frontline care for victims of trafficking and slavery, so I get exposure to a lot of heart-rending stories. Believe me; these people have been subjected to some truly horrifying acts of cruelty and inhumanity in the form of sexual, labour and domestic exploitation. It’s hard to believe that something like this happens in this day and age, especially in the UK. But it does; and often right under your nose.

The Victim Care Fund helps to bridge the gap between government funding and complex needs, and is an important resource in helping to rebuild lives and negotiate the extreme trauma suffered by the people we support. That’s why I’m throwing myself out of an aeroplane on 4th July this year; despite my crippling fear of heights!

Please – make it worthwhile by donating to my fundraising team so we can hit our target and help those in need.

Thank you : )
