Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm raising money for the William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre. I've worked here at the Centre since earlier this year and feel inspired to do some fun fundraising to go towards patient activities! Color Me Rad looks as though it will certainly be that (and a little messy too!).
The William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre (WQSEC) opened on the 12th of April 2013. This state of the art facility with world-class diagnostic technology will take epilepsy services in the UK to a whole new level. It's an amazing centre and is literally transforming people's lives every day.
- Epilepsy is a devastating neurological condition.
- Epilepsy can kill. More people died from epilepsy in 2011 than of Aids, Hepatitis, Meningitis, TB, Cystic Fibrosis and cot death – combined!
- Over the lifetime of the building, 10,000 lives will be transformed and the number of deaths reduced.
- The Centre combines Quarriers’ expertise with one of the world’s finest neurology teams and enables access to a wider range of diagnostic technology.
The William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre provides the only residential assessment and treatment centre in Scotland for adults with epilepsy. It is an Independent Hospital operated by Quarriers Charity providing services to patients and clinicians across Scotland. It is a modern 12 bed in-patient facility providing flexible, patient-centred residential assessment for adults aged 16 years and over.
The WQSEC offers multidisciplinary in-patient assessment to people with complex diagnostic and treatment needs. The Centre provides clinical review and diagnostic assessment such as EEG, ambulatory EEG and videotelemetry besides the ability to initiate or withdraw medications in a safe monitored environment. The centre also provides outpatient and telemedicine clinics.
