We improve the lives of deaf children to enable them to succeed at school

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

First, I’d like to say I’ve never run before, I’m not a gym bunny or fitness guru, so your money will be earned by my sweat, achy joints and stiff muscles.

In October 2016, I signed up for the Southampton Marathon, and then I thought “perhaps I should do a half marathon to break myself in gently”.

So, I’m running the Reading Half Marathon on 19 March and Southampton Marathon on 23 April on behalf of Mary Hare School for Deaf Children in Newbury.

Why do I want your money?

Mary Hare is a special needs school that enables deaf children from all over the country to fulfil their potential.

Our daughter, Katherine, is in year 8 at Mary Hare. She loves her school.

Mary Hare relies on charitable donations for new equipment and the improvements of the school’s facilities – this is why I need your help!

Your donations will make a difference to outcomes of these deaf children’s lives.

You can learn more about Mary Hare School here: http://www.maryhare.org.uk/mission-objectives

I hope my passion to earn your money (and my “first time finisher” training) will get me over the lines!

Many thanks   Heather
