Story

In May 2013 one of our school families was devastated by a boating accident in Cornwall. Over the past four years the Milligan family has raised funds in support of the charity - Cornish air Ambulance - who did so much for them in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy.

Having decided to take on the challenge of the 125 mile Devizes to Westminster International Canoeing Race, the girls involved felt that this was the perfect charity to be aligned with. After an extraordinary talk at Heathfield School by Victoria Milligan (see also her Ted Talk - called Time is Precious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiZOH_ANTks ), they were even more determined to raise funds for this important organisation.

On Good Friday, Gabi & Thea (boat 155), Katy and Millie (boat 156) and Franny with Izzi from Seaford College (boat 157) will set off from Devizes, paddling around 35 miles a day, until they reach Westminster on Easter Monday. Having only learnt to kayak before Christmas, this is an immense undertaking and will involve large amounts of grit and resilience. Your support is hugely valued, thank you..
