In Memory of Assa Basi

Over 4 years ago, Assa Basi (our Mum), was diagnosed with sarcoidosis; an interstitial lung disease which causes progressive scarring tissue in the lungs. It came as a shock to us all as Mum had never been a smoker and had always maintained a good level of health, exercising regularly, having a healthy diet etc. As time went on, the disease resulted in severe breathlessness and a drastic change in life conditions. Over the past year, the disease prevented Mum from working, exercising, dancing, cooking and eventually made it hard for her to get around the house independently. Our Mum fought so hard for four years, but sadly passed away on Sunday 15th of November 2020, at the age of 57.
Our Mum accomplished so much in her 57 years of living. She was a single Mum raising three children whilst also running a business. Anyone that knew Mum will undoubtedly remember her for her strength, morals and values, her kind and giving nature and her willingness to always go the extra mile for people in her life. Our Mum loved life and lived it to the fullest, putting her whole heart into everything she did.
In her final words she shared "it's been a blast kiddos". She left us a letter reminding us to "celebrate her life" and to "get back in the game quickly, because life is short". Overall, our Mum was a remarkable woman and will be dearly missed by so many.
As her three children, Enisha, Imaan and Heeran, we are extremely thankful to have had such a strong and courageous Mum and are heartbroken to have lost her. Therefore, we'd like to raise money to support the British Lung Foundation (BLF) to prevent other individuals and families from enduring these circumstances and losing loved ones to this disease.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated and thank you from us all in advance.
Sleep well Mum, we love you x
