I have been swimming regularly for around 5 years, but have only been running for just over a year. Recently I have decided to challenge myself, increasing my mileage and seeking to improve my fitness levels further.
Since taking up exercise I have competed in several mini-triathlons. I have also swam several open-water Great Swim events, but had never contemplated distance running until now.
Raising money for Diabetes UK is my incentive for taking part in this years Morrisons Great North Run. My Father is a type 2 diabetic and a family friend is a type 1 diabetic, so running for their cause was a no-brainer...
