The Polly Parrot Appeal is raising funds for the children's wards at Basildon Hospital including the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and children's oncology.  This is a great local charity which needs funds to decorate, provide distraction equipment, sensory equipment, toys, child-friendly furniture, TVs and other electronic gadgets to make a child's stay in hospital as pleasant as possible in what can often be distressing circumstances.   The Polly Parrot Appeal focuses on getting the environment right for the thousands of young patients and visitors they see each year.
