Story
Thank you for visiting Helen's memorial just giving page.
In loving memory of Helen Smith who passed away from cancer on the 26 October 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Helen was an inspiration to all who knew her, as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, friend and colleague. She remained positive to the very end and never complained about the pain and heartache she was suffering. She was always more concerned for others than for herself and had the innate ability to brighten the darkest of rooms.
Aside from her family, who Helen unconditionally loved, she touched the lives of so many people through her work, first as as a primary school teacher, then deputy head teacher. Her enthusiasm and dedication to the children was endless.
In memory of Helen and others like her, we would like to raise funds for AMMF (The Alan Morement Memorial Fund), raising funds for reasearch into cancer, particularly into the causes, treatment and cures for cancers of the gastrointestinal tract and especially cholangiocarcinoma.
Cholangiocarcinoma is a devastating and particulary rare cancer affecting the bile ducts, for which not enough funding is being allocated or awareness made.
