Story

*Update: I am overwhelmed by the number of (crazy) people wishing to join me & Lee on this challenge. This donation page is for everyone involved - Helen & Lee Stephenson, Michelle & Chris Exall, Craig Martin, Eathan Hughes, Rebecca Lewis, Vicki Rose, Sam Smedley, Victoria. If you would like to join the ride, please do get in touch. THANK YOU x

I can easily say that I’ve not ridden a bike in 20 years. I don’t even own a bike nor do I work out or do any form of exercise. So why not give myself a challenge!

Myself and Lee (he doesn’t know it yet) are going to bike from Stapleford to Skegness on Saturday 26th June in admiration of my warrior of a brother in law, Adrian, my incredibly strong sister, Alison and my amazing nephews Harrison and Jacob.

As a family, we didn't think 2020 could have been any worse after losing our beautiful nan to cancer. A battle well and truly fought. Fast forward six months, to watch the adventurous and fulfilling life that Alison and Adrian give one another  and their boys turn unexpectedly and put on a constant 360° spin is beyond shit. Yet again the big ‘C’ hits and breaks my heart!

At the minute it feels that all I can give is words so giving myself something to work towards, to focus on and to achieve for others will hopefully ease the feeling of helplessness, even if it's just by an inch.

So Adrian, this is for you!!! And for putting up with the Bryan sisters and our madness (more so Sally :)) for the past 25 years. I doubt this bike ride challenge and the saddle sore is anything in comparison :) Love you xxx

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
