Story

Hey....firstly thanks for clicking on this page.

A few years back the sweetest lady in the world, my mum, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, only in her very early 50s this was a massive shock, within weeks her life changed. From being independent, outgoing, working every hour God sent, being able to drive, all was quickly taken away from her, this was hard for us all but mostly my mum.
A couple of years have past now, we are all getting used to what's happening, when she's having a good day, like many Alzheimer's sufferers, it's the best of days, youthful, funny & happy Mary reappears, she sings and dances, just like she used to in the kitchen when burning our tea, just kidding, she's still a great cook even now.
For a while I ignored what was going on, truthfully I still do some days, but learnt to just crack on, at least I still have her around.
The staff at the Alzheimer's society have been beyond amazing, their support for not just my mum, but for myself & other people who adore her, means the absolute world. They give so much of their time & empathy.
I'm calling this trek 'Marys Mountain' she's a bit of a big head like me so I know she'd definitely approve :-)
Every single penny is appreciated & will go far to support sufferers & help support making their life comfortable, just how it should be.
My heart goes out to anyone who is a Alzheimer's patient & their families/friends too & Thankyou in advance for any support you give. Please share the page & spread awareness

Love Helen xxx
