Story
Our beloved father and husband spent his final few weeks at Marie Curie Hospice in Hampstead. We are deeply grateful to the staff. They were sensitive, kind and caring; giving Henry a peaceful sanctuary as he battled Parkinson’s disease.
We want to say thank you to this charity by raising some money to support them in their wonderful work.
Thank you and love to you all, from Liz, Jon, Diana and Rachel.
Here’s what Marie Curie say about themselves:
We've been caring for people with serious illnesses in Barnet, Brent, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington for more than 60 years, now.Every single day at the hospice is an extraordinary day. And every moment is precious. Our hospice nurses, doctors and therapists provide the best possible care for people with serious illnesses, and offer vital emotional support for them and their families. The hospice is a warm, welcoming place where loved ones can be together in peaceful surroundings and in as much comfort as possible. Whether it's for one day or several weeks, the time people spend at the hospice is precious, and is cherished by them and their families.Thank you for supporting us, and helping to make sure more people with a terminal illness in North London get the care and support they need."When I was admitted, I was confined to a wheelchair, in constant pain. Now I walk between five and seven miles a day. You can see how good Marie Curie is in that I walk" - Matthew
