Nearly half of all refugees are children and more than ever before are unaccompanied, often embarking on long and dangerous journeys to find a safe place to call home. We help child refugees access their right to reach safety, then support their first steps to rebuilding their lives.

Story

I am fundraising for the Alf Dubs Children's Fund,  which advocates for and supports the safe and legal passage of unaccompanied refugee children and vulnerable adults across Europe to join family in the UK.  1,700 refugee children have already arrived safely and legally in the UK through the routes that Safe Passage have opened up.

I am running the Sheffield Half Marathon, hills and all,  on 14 April ( nb. not Cambridge as previously planned).  The last time I ran, and even then no distance,  was as a child. I was born in 1954 so you can do the maths. I did a Park Run with one of my sons last spring and since have run intermittently, albeit slowly, somewhat outside my comfort zone  and with creaky knees.

The displacement  and forced migration of peoples  is one of the great scourges of our age so please help me to support those young people who find themselves traveling alone in a strange land, through no fault of their own.
