In memory of John King
We raise funds for St George's Hospital to improve outcomes in neurosurgery

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The John King Brain Tumour Foundation, was set up in memory of my dad John King, who sadly passed away in 2016 after an incredibly brave and dignified fight against his illness. Dad was a much-loved chef with an international reputation and the foundation and its mission is a lasting legacy for such a wonderful man.

The Foundation received Registered Charity status on 18th March 2017.  It's aims are to raise much needed funds to support the advancement of treatment and research into fatal brain tumours and to purchase equipment for paediatric and adult neurosurgery, in association with senior neurosurgeons from the Atkinson Morley Wing at St George’s Hospital Trust, where my dad received such excellent care.

On the 27th February 2020, I am taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to support this wonderful charity. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, standing at 4,900 metres (16,100 feet) from its base, over 5.895 meters (19,341 feet) from sea level. The planned trek is via the Lomosho Route and will take 8 days on the mountain. We've selected this route to (hopefully) avoid altitude sickness and to have the best chance of reaching the summit!

It would be wonderful if you could consider sponsoring me as with your generous support, we can make a real impact on fighting brain diseases, neurological disorders and brain injuries. Your support will make a difference - now and for generations to come.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
