Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page! We are doing a 24-hour Stellaris multiplayer game to raise money for the Mcmillan Cancer Support in memory of Chris Culture's Dad, who was supported by Mcmillan when he got cancer.

CHRIS' STORY

Chris lost his father in 2017 to a quick and brutal battle with cancer. Seven weeks after being diagnosed he passed away.

"The help and support that Macmillan provided was a huge help to both Dad and our family. Although it seemed like the little things at the time, on reflection the kindness, advice and practical help they provided made such a difference. It was a truly humbling experience. They provided a hospital-style bed for the family home, allowing Dad to spend his final week in the house he had lived in for 40 years, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Macmillan also paid for carers to visit him throughout the day and also to stay overnight, keeping him company and making sure he was as comfortable as he could be.

Macmillan is funded by donations and self-generated revenue from fundraising, their charity shops etc Without people's generosity my Dad would not have had the care he had in his final weeks, my family would not have had the support we received and, importantly, nor would millions of others. Last year they spent almost £80m on health and social care professionals for people in our situation, all this money comes from people like you.

Check out how they raise and spend their money here - https://www.macmillan.org.uk/about-us/what-we-do/our-annual-report-and-accounts/how-we-raise-and-spend-our-money.html"
