Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Newark Air Museum needs to raise £2,500 to move its recently acquired Chinook HC.1 helicopter 'cab' (fuselage) from RAF Cranwell to its site on part of the former World War II training base of RAF Winthorpe, which is located in eastern Nottinghamshire.

Due to the size of the 'cab' a specialist company has to be employed to load and complete the move, whilst complying with various transport regulations; and then off-load the 'cab' at the museum site.

This unique Chinook 'cab' is from ZA717, which was written-off in a non-fatal incident at RAF Mount Pleasant, Falkland Islands on 25 July 1989.

Until quite recently it has been used as an instructional airframe at RAF Cranwell for training Air Loadmasters.

At the museum ZA717 will be turned into an interactive education space / resource for visiting groups of children, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

I hope that you will feel able to make a contribution towards the cost of moving Chinook ZA717 to the museum.
