We Invite business leaders to sleep rough to fight poverty & homelessness UK wide

The last two years have been tough for all of us. But imagine if you had no home, no bed, no food, and nowhere you felt safe. As the cost of living pushes even more people into destitution, we need to make sure everyone has a safe and secure roof over their heads.

To help raise awareness of homelessness, on Monday, November 28th 2022, at the Clifton Rugby Club, I will be participating in the CEO Sleepout Bristol.

CEO Sleepout has partnered with local charities like Help Bristol's Homeless to bring together senior-level executives and corporation owners from the local business community to spend the night under the stars, experiencing a little of what those without homes go through every single night.

Although it’s only for one night and doesn’t come close to what homeless people experience night after night, CEO Sleepout is intended to raise awareness and lots of money to fight homelessness.

Please support me by making a donation to my JustGiving page.

With your help, I aim to raise £1000 but no matter how big or small your donation, as the cold nights draw in every penny counts.

Together we can make a difference!

About Help Bristol's Homeless

Help Bristol’s Homeless is a registered charity with a mission to change the face of homelessness in Bristol.

Unlike many homeless charities, our ethos is that housing must come first, and then everything else comes after. Many complex factors can lead to homelessness, and while it is true that these issues need to be resolved to keep people off the street, we believe that the priority must be to get people into safe, stable and comfortable accommodations. From there, we can help them to improve their own lives and reach their potential.

Free clothing and food can help people to survive homelessness, but it does not provide a way out. Programmes aimed at resolving complex issues such as addiction are vital but do not solve the day-to-day problems of being homeless. We do not believe a person suffering from homelessness can make the most of these programmes, or reach their potential when they face the daily task of finding a safe place to stay. We believe that the best way to help homeless people is to give them a secure base from which they can build their lives.

We work with the support of our directors, trustees, staff and volunteers to build temporary accommodations, to be used by residents while they access the help they need to secure a permanent home. By providing users with the security and dignity that everyone deserves, we empower them to take an active role in improving their situation. Our mission is to get homeless people off the street first, and then give them a helping hand in the right direction.
