Story
Every year I take on a new challegenge and climbing to base camp Everest has always been on my radar. As I get older and watch young children grow and go to schools, I realise the challenges they face and how this may affect their mental health. I come from a family where I have experienced first hand the effects of depression, anxiety and addicition and I am more interested than most to do something for the next generation of young people. This is why I have chosen Young Minds as my charity challenge for this year!!
Young Minds (https://youngminds.org.uk/) has a school outreach program called the '360 Digital School Community' targeting schools around the UK and giving them the tools to deal with children whose mental health is suffering. This indispensable service will allow teachers and students to be more aware of any mental health issues in their schools and allow for a more open approach.
My target is to raise £35,000 which will fund the program for a whole year reaching thousands of schools and giving teachers the training and tools they need to be part of this digital community. We also hope to link up with my brothers not for profit organisation Head Talks to raise further awareness and assist with the fundraising effort.
Your generosity and help to reach my target will help literally thousands of schools and many more young student trying to navigate the challenges of modern day life!!
