We support people affected by OCD to help change their lives for the better

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be taking part in the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon in March 2017. I am a keen runner but have never run this distance before! My aim is to complete it in under two hours, which will be a challenge!

I have chosen to run this half marathon to support the charity, OCD Action. OCD is a disorder which affects 1-2% of the population. I suffered with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) for many years and OCD Action were so important in my recovery. They are a national charity that strives to increase awareness and understanding of OCD as well as provide support and advice for anyone affected by the disorder.

I also volunteer within the Youth section of the charity (OCDYouth) and through this I have been able to speak first-hand to teachers, professionals and other young people about OCD. We aim to increase awareness amongst other young people with OCD, offering information about the different services and treatment options available.

In all, OCD Action is an amazing charity to be a part of and the support and opportunities they provide are fantastic. The work they do is so crucial in helping change the lives of people with OCD.

Wish me luck :D

Thank you!
