Story

Over the course of 2017, ICM will be undertaking a number of global challenges to raise money for the charity Teach A Man To Fish and in particular the Family Literacy Project.

The Family Literacy Project (FLP) is committed to improving the early learning and literacy skills of Pre-School children in the deep rural areas of KwaZula-Natal in South Africa, by primarily working with parents and carers to improve their own literacy skills. The funding that ICM raises will help FLP provide support to the coordinators and facilitators to enable them to ensure that the scheme is well administered and the program runs smoothly.

On Sunday 18th June, 8 members of the UK  office plus an ICM support team will be pumping their bike tires and peddling the 54 miles of winding and undulating roads from London to Brighton in their ICM pink t-shirt to raise funds for FLP.

Our Irish office will also be continuing the cycling theme and will be cycling 100km through the Wicklow Mountains.

Our Hong Kong staff member will be hiking the twin peaks of Lantau Island in Hong Kong which include the Lantau Peak of 934m and Sunset Peak of 898m on the 70km Lantau trail.

Our Cape Town office will instead be volunteering their services to a local school whilst the Singapore office will be volunteering at "Willing Hearts", a local soup kitchen which relies on volunteers to prepare, cook and distribute about 5,000 meals daily to over 40 locations island wide, 365 days a year. Our New Zealand office are also volunteering at Kiwi Community Assistance, working alongside the Food Rescue Team helping to pick up food donations from various sponsors around the Wellington region that are then delivered to children living in poverty.

Any sponsorship is gratefully received and much appreciated by the ICM team.
