Story

Every year, Team IMO takes part in the London Nightride to support the Mission to Seafarers.  With its cancellation due to the pandemic, we still wished to do something to support the people who are the backbone of the global economy; the seafarers who selflessly deliver for the world 24/7/365. Now more than ever, seafarers need our support.  The crew change crisis, the extension of contracts and the inability to repatriate seafarers due to the pandemic have placed great strain on seafarers and also on the organizations that support those dedicated men and women who deliver for the world.  Now, more than ever, we need to support our seafarers.

Thus we have arrived at a plan to do a similar 100 KM bike ride on 19 September 2020. Team IMO 2020 consists of: Fred Kenney, George Demiatrades, Chris Trelawny, Irfan Rahim, Ingrid Lopez-Cardona,  Tamara Vassilissin, (Secretariat),  Edmundo DeVille, (Peru), Gillian Grant (Canada), Gerard Kenny (Liberia), Ian Lancaster (NZ), Carlos Sequira (Portugal), Watchara Chiemanukulkit (Thailand), Elsa Gutierrez (Venezuela), Guy Platten, Stuart Inglis (ICS), Phil Belcher (Intertanko), Unni Einimo (IBIA).  Most riders will be doing a properly socially-distanced 8-9 laps around Richmond Park in London.  Edmundo DeVille will be riding Richmond Park virtually, on his stationary bike in Peru.  Ian Lancaster will do a 100 KN ride in New Zealand.  Phil Belcher will ride 100km around Paris, and Irfan Rahim will ride 50km in Hyde Park.  Just as seafarers wok around the world, we will be riding all over the world  to support them. Please help us support all seafarers by donating generously.
