Shivia empowers the poorest to create livelihoods, boost income and inspire permanent change.The focus of Shivia's work is in rural West Bengal, one of India’s poorest and most populous states, where this wonderful charity is giving families living in rural villages near Kolkata the tools and training to start an enterprise from home so that they can earn money. Shivia empowers the people in most need, and particularly women, to work their own way out of poverty and provide a brighter future for their children.

Inspired by Mark's proposals for 10x10 multiplier fundraising I have sourced Indian wines from my friend Kevin, who is The Wineman (see: https://www.wineman.co.uk/) and invited my friends to try them, with a curry supper afterwards.  There will be 10 of us trying six wines, three white and three red.  Discussion of developments in India will lead to the wonderful work of Shivia and I hope my friends will donate generously.  And hopefully they will replicate the event with 10 of their friends, and so on.
