At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
Story
I am walking, unsupported, carrying my shelter, from Lands End to John o' Groats to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. As I walk, I am finding that I camp about 4 nights out of 5 then stay in a B and B for a bit of a wash up.😉
I will be walking roughly a 1200 mile route, avoiding major roads and using footpaths where possible. I plan to start walking on the 1st August and hope to be finished sometime in October.
My mum died with Alzheimer's and as a part-time hospital porter, I see its impact on a weekly basis. If you are able to sponsor me, and help the Alzheimer's Society that would be wonderful!
I will post progress on this page and Facebook.
Thank you in anticipation.
Kind regards, Gary
