Having been personally effected by domestic violence for 11 years,  I wish to help raise awareness and help those who don’t have family and friends to run to for help. I am so lucky that I did have family to run to, yet others are not so lucky. I wish to help provide a safe haven for those affected by domestic violence, so they are given the chance to re-start their lives again, as I did, giving them the opportunity to live happy and safe lives, away from any potential harm.

One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge supports around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence.
