Bridgnorth Walk · 30 May 2016

We help by supporting children and young people with hearing impairment eg specialist equipment to improve listening in classrooms and homes. We organise a range of social activities and talks throughout the year to support parents and carers. We also provide information and helpful contacts.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am the parent of a deaf child.  My son, who is now 13, contracted meningitis as a baby and this left him profoundly deaf.  As a family we have benefited greatly from the support of the Shropshire Deaf Children's Society.  I would now like to take this opportunity to raise funds for the charity as a thank you for all of the help we have received.

The annual Bridgnorth Walk has been raising money for charity  since 1967. The walk regularly raises over £100k for good causes and charities. The Senior walk is just short of a marathon at 22 miles and is very hilly - the half way point is the summit of Brown Clee Hill, which is the highest point in Shropshire at 540m.  There is a shorter route for people over 40 (I just about qualify) but I'm going for the full 22 miles.
