Kingston Hospital Charity works with Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust to improve patient care and staff wellbeing. Thanks to our local community and supporters, we fund everything from small comforts to major refurbishments, advanced equipment, and innovative research.

Story

One of my best friends (Rosie Kennedy) challenged me to run the marathon in memory of her father. Never being one to backdown from a challenge here, I am running it for Kingston Hospital Charity.

I work as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Kingston Hospital. Part of my job involves carrying out operations on frail elderly patients and I want to improve and enhance our ward environment to promote and aid recovery.

With this in mind, I have signed up to the London Marathon to raise funds. I am hoping that you will support me in raising as much money as possible for my hospital charity. This will not only motivate me in my training and on the day, but it means you will be helping other local people.

Kingston Hospital Charity helps our hospital us to offer a level of care that simply isn't possible with NHS funding alone, from supporting research and development, to brightening up our buildings, donating state-of-the-art technologies and equipment or looking after the health and wellbeing of our NHS staff. All of it touching lives and helping to make a huge difference to thousands of people when they are at their most vulnerable.
