Story
The match was won this year by Simon King & myself with 128lb of Bream, Tench & Grass, Mirror & Common Carp.
I personally contributed a whopping 14lb 8oz towards our weight ! so it was really Simon that won the match, but thank you to everyone for all your support and great sponsorship.
For those interested in the fishing match results, we beat Mark Hurdle and Alex Royale into second place with 75lb, whilst Joe Lunn & Dave Green finished third with 59lb. Whilst both of these teams caught plenty of Bream & Tench, the Carp proved largely elusive due to changes in the weather having interrupted their spawning and they clearly still had their mind on other things !
Match organiser Jon Hyatt explained that the annual match had raised over £34K since it began in 2001, and this year had raised £1,491 for The Second Chance Charity, which was greatly appreciated by their Chief Executive Douglas Hulme as they continually seek to raise funds to secure their work with disadvantaged children.
Previously on 24 . . . . . . . Thank you so much for all the great support so far everyone, going great guns and I am sure my initial target will be smashed, so let's get to the £500 and then I will re-set it !
WOW, thanks everyone, OK, re-set to £1,000. On your marks, Go . . . . .

Farnham Angling Society has organised this fishing match since 2001 in memory of a former Secretary of the Society, and has raised over £32K for charity since it began, I hope we can make a great addition to that sum this year and will be fishing with Simon King our Chief Bailiff, so will be fishing under the team name of ' The Gruesome Twosome'.
Please remember its just for charity folks, so please dig deep pop pickers !
All of your support is greatly appreciated, Ian & Simon
