Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Marie Curie help so many people in the later stages of their lives, as well as the families of the people attached to them.
I've had personal experience of their tremendous work a few years ago when my mother died of ovarian cancer. She benefited hugely from the amazing and wonderful support of Marie Curie. The whole experience was extremely humbling.
That, for me, is why I'm so fond of the organisation.
This fundraising trek across part of the Canadian Rockies lasts nine days, and will no doubt be a fantastic experience for myself and other participants. Seeing the Rockies in all their splendid glory is something that I've always really wanted to do. For that reason, I'm paying for the trip myself; all money donated will go directly to the Marie Curie Hospice in Newcastle.
As much as I want to witness the Rockies in all their splendid glory, there is something else I'm yearning to see: more financial support for this fantastic charity, who are there with diligence and compassion for those who need them most.
Please donate what you can - it really is such a good cause.
