Story
Myself and team of 30 will be travelling to Wales and climbing up Mount Snowdon at midnight on October 15th 2016, to raise much needed funds for the NET Cancer Patient Foundation and I hope you will help support us with a donation. We are doing this to raise much needed funds for the UK’s only neuroendocrine [NET] cancer charity. Neuroendocrine cancer is a rare, generally unknown and often misdiagnosed cancer. The NET Patient Foundation supports people with this form of the disease.
We are doing this for Alastair (Jj) who was diagnosed with terminal stage four neuroendocrine carcinoid cancer in early 2015. This prognosis was made after it was confirmed it had spread extensively throughout his body, and is incurable with any conventional medicine due to its advancement.
Almost unbelievably, and with odds in the billions to one, his brother and sister were also diagnosed with the same cancer. Thankfully, following multiple surgical procedures and containing it early enough, they are both now in remission.
Your donation will help the Foundation achieve their aims:-
* Provide support, education and information to anyone affected by neuroendocrine cancers
* Advocate for neuroendocrine cancer patients so they may achieve the best possible outcomes
* Encourage standardised care for all NET cancer patients
* Provide community supportive care to patients and their carers or family members
* Raise awareness of NET cancers throughout the UK
* Raise funds for clinical and much needed research projects
We have set a higher fundraising target, due to the fact that this charity receives almost no funding in comparison to the other, larger charities of the more common cancers.
We will provide regular updates with our funding raising progress, and images from the ascent up Snowdon.
Many Thanks from Team NET Snowdon Challenge!
