RFUIPF Veteran’s Rugby Day · 9 June 2018

The RFU Injured Players Foundation supports & protects the rugby family. They provide support to any rugby player who sustains a catastrophic spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury while playing the game, and they fund vital injury prevention research to keep everyone safer on the field.

Story

On the 9th June I will be coming out of retirement for a one time only stroll onto the pitch in support of raising money for a great cause.

Former Solihull School pupil and club captain Lee 'Window' Jones, sustained a catastrophic spinal cord injury whilst representing his club, Silhillians RUFC.

The Injured Players Foundation (IPF) and the RFU have been immense in the support of one of the games gems and he would dearly like to raise awareness for those that have helped him since this tragic day.

The IPF have pulled out the stops and with the generous support of the RFU, on 9th June 2018, 130 veteran players from 4 clubs who have suffered catastrophic player injuries, will be putting their bodies on the line on the holy turf of Twickenham.

I am playing in this match and I have set ourselves a massive target of £40,000, so please help us support the RFUIPF by sponsoring me in this match.

This will be a fantastic occasion which will continue to unite a community & the club in Rugby.

If you would like to see more of what the RFUIPF does to help the injured players and their families adapt and recover from critical injuries and importantly to me, the preventive research they do, to stop tragic injuries happening like this again, please log on to http://www.rfuipf.org.uk
