Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In loving memory of Ian Stuart McGowan.

Ian was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 11.

Recent developments in technology allowed Ian to manage his diabetes in a more straightforward way, giving him the freedom to live a normal life. Last year we all ran the Great North Run to raise money for DiabetesUK and Ian was training to do it all again this year.

Ian's sudden death means that Steve has stepped in to run in Ian's name, in his memory, to continue supporting this charity, what Ian would have wanted. Eva and George will also be competing in the Mini North Run to raise money in their Daddy's name.

Thank you for any donation you can make in memory of our wonderful, fantastic, imperfectly perfect daddy, husband, son, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend.

He loved with all his heart and was equally loved in return.
