Hair cut donation at Hickers Hier · 23 July 2016

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

My hair has been the same style/length for ages now and is way over due a restyle. I work at Hickers Hier Studio, in West Haddon on Saturdays and mentioned to a client that I was going to get my hair cut. As it is so long she suggested that I donated what I had cut off to the Little Princess Trust. I researched what this was and discovered that wigs can be made from real human hair.  I was so moved by the stories of children who have lost their hair after chemotherapy and the wigs that they have to wear which are often made from synthetic material, I decided that I would donate the hair that I had cut off to this charity! Just because I don't want it anymore doesn't mean it has to be wasted! I am proud to donate my hair and would be grateful for any donations which will ultimately turn the hair I have had cut off into a wig for a Little Princess!

Thank you.
