At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

My mum fought a long battle with Dementia and is missed everyday by all her 7 girls.

Mum was unique... funny, kind, generous but also painfully truthful.

She had a saying.... I dont mean to offend you but...you guessed it everything after the but offended and hurt. Id happily hear some of her sayings today though.

Mum used to ring me and say... she couldn't sleep as she was worried about the size of my thighs 🤣.I was a big girl.  My reply always was. You are daft me and my big thighs were fast asleep!

Shortly after she died nearly 7 years ago. I decided to change my lifestyle as I was hurtling towards fair, fat and forty!

I was also now in black & white my sisters legal guardian, so owed it to her to be healthy & happy and around as long as possible.

Long story short. I'm now 8.7 stones lighter. I weightlift daily before work and now taking on this HUGE challenge

I dont love heights and this will be by far the biggest mountain I've climbed.

I am doing it with a social enterprise guided hike company too, Peak Health & Mind so I am in safe hands.

Please donate if you can. Thank you

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
