What do bell bottom jeans, tie-dye, Cuban heels and rollercoaster’s have in common? No, Bill Acton isn’t clearing out his wardrobe! Its MKM’s Young Enterprise charity team “The Independent’s” next “Who wants to be an Entrepreneur?” charity competition challenge. Yes, after hosting the year’s first prestigious soiree at the Guildhall in Hull, and then attempting to break an Official Guinness World Record, for the largest Zumba class, we are now, perhaps stupidly, challenging ourselves to complete 60 miles on a Rollercoaster, dressed in the height of 60’s fashion! You’re probably asking yourself WHY? Well, the theme of the 3 and final task in this year’s competition, is 60, based around the Queens Jubilee.
It will be mini-skirts, go-go boots and beehives a plenty at Fantasy Island in Skegness in early July. With the sounds of the Beatles and The Rolling Stones to motivate us, all we need now is your generous support. To help us raise enough money for Young Enterprise, (a charity created in 1963 with its sole aim to inspire young people and succeed through enterprise, in an attempt to find the next generation of Entrepreneurs, something this country is desperate for), we need you to dig deep!
Our team, comprising of Andy Ferris, Jon Samuel, Emma Tattersall, Laura Abraham, Beverley Parry, Olly Roberts & Ben Hayton has raised £4,000 from our first two challenges, we want to break the £6,000 barrier, not to mention win the competition too, but we can’t do it without your valued support. In keeping with the 60 theme, we are asking for just £60, (but more if you wish!) to help us achieve our goal.
We will also have a LIVE blog with photos, so make sure you let us know your fashion tips – please be kind.
