My son Adam didn't get to celebrate his 19th birthday. Adam took his own life when he was just 18 years old, in June 2019, six years ago. It was a huge shock to all of us when we lost Adam to suicide. We miss him so much. He was a very important, much loved part of our family unit.

Our Adam brought so much love and kindness into everyone's life - he was kind, gentle and caring, with an incredibly sharp and unique mind.

I really hope that we can help to end the youth suicide crisis. I didn't know with Adam what to do, who to turn to. I believe if we all are better equipped with tools and resources to be able to be there for a young person who might be struggling, then we can help more people, and save more lives.

Unless we talk about it, we miss a crucial chance to discuss other options. I have learnt this the hardest way possible by losing my amazing son Adam to suicide, and I am determined to help reduce suicide rates.
