Alzheimer Scotland is the leading, national dementia charity in Scotland. Our mission is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide advice, information and support and we are here for people living with dementia, their families and carers across Scotland.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After years of trying to get a place through the ballot, I've been lucky to secure a charity place thanks to Alzheimer Scotland. Running the London Marathon this year is particularly important to me as my mum Catherine, will be at the finish line with my family as she can no longer travel long distances.

Training for a marathon is demanding physically,  emotionally and sacrifices are made but the reason has always been crystal clear to me - Alzheimer patients suffer in a cruel and unforgiving way that needs to be stopped. Research can lead the way and we can only do this by donating - even if this is a few pounds. The role of the carers must not be forgotten either - without the dedicated loving care my mum gets, we would've lost her years ago.

Thank you all for reading and please donate what you can, it's very much appreciated.

I'll be posting training updates to let you know how it's going.

Lots of love

Innes
