I am running the London Marathon in 2024 on the 21st April for Helen and Douglas House. Helen House is a charity that provides hospice care for children with life-limiting and terminal conditions. Helen House provides vital support for the families of these children. Helen house provides end of life care, respite care, symptom management stays, bereavement support, as well as support for siblings and families.  

I have had the pleasure to work at the hospice as a student nurse for 3 months on placement and have seen first hand the amazing work that Helen House does. A moment during my time at Helen House which will always stick with me is having a local petting zoo coming to the hospice and seeing the pure joy on the children’s faces and making memories with their families. This experience has inspired me to take on the challenge of the Marathon to raise money for such a deserving cause. As very much a SLOW runner (who a few months ago could barely do 5km) this will be a huge challenge. Every penny helps so please give what you can and help the lives of these children and their families.
