As my family and a lot of my close friends know I lost my older cousin Calum to meningitis back in 2007
I've never felt hurt and pain like it in my life and as an 8 year old it was a hard thing to go through seeing my family in so much misery
Meningitis is an infection of the protective membranes that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. This causes the membranes become inflamed, which in some cases can damage the nerves and brain
My aunt and uncle were told Calum had no brain activity and there was nothing else that could be done
As many people will have seen on social media little girls like Faye Burdett who died of meningitis at only 2 years old. Story like this really do touch my heart and it makes me think of how grateful for everyone and everything in my life. More and more cases of meningitis are happening and with people's help and signatures on petitions for vaccinations, the ultimate goal is for some day in the future to kill Meningitis off and save so many people's life.
Meningitis Now help people who have survived Meningitis and people who have had a loved one die due to Meningitis and support them through hard times.
Meningitis Now have helped my family so much through times of need and we can describe how much we appreciate it.
Throughout the years we have had many fundraising events to raise money for meningitis now with balls, cycles etc
As a little girl I watched and took part in event and I always wanted to help and fundraise on my own for Meningitis. 
My friends and I are running the 'Color me Rad' run in May this year I've chosen to fundraise for Meningitis Now. Any donation would be appreciated and help so much.
