Heavy downpours caused by an approaching tropical storm caused floods and landslides that affected several towns in the southern Philippines. The storm is expected to make landfall over the weekend. Flooding and multiple landslides in the southern Philippines have killed at at least 42 people.
Some areas have recorded their highest ever daily rainfall. Flash floods and landslides are always one of the greatest dangers in the Philippines, with its unstable geography and deforested mountains.
Community Outreach UK is working with local volunteers to assist affected families with with urgent after care support.
