Story

You are in the right place to donate to all the amazing '47 for 47' rowers helping to raise £25k after every penny matched by National Grid!

@iwanoceanrow

In February 2016 I will be part of an 8-man crew attempting to break the current Atlantic rowing record of 32 days. Skippered by Simon Chalk, a veteran with more oceans under his belt than anyone else in history, our team will rotate 'two hours on' and 'two hours off' for the 3000 mile journey from Gran Canaria to Barbados. It's no small undertaking and I'm under no illusions how difficult this will be. For those who know me well, this has been a long standing ambition so I cannot believe I am finally getting the opportunity to do this.

It's incredibly important however that whilst doing this I raise as much money as I can for cancer sufferers across the UK. It's also amazing that National Grid is matching every donation received. Being tired and hungry on a boat is really nothing compared to all those incredible people and their families who are fighting cancer on a daily basis.

There is a real opportunity for us to make a big difference here so I would like to thank you in advance for any support you can offer. See you in Barbados!

Thank you to my personal sponsors: Morgan Stanley, Bank of New York Mellon, Barclays and Bank of America Merill Lynch.
