Story

JCI Manchester is a voluntary networking and personal development organisation for people aged 18-40.  www.jcimanchester.org.uk

On 25-26 June 2016, twelve plucky members and friends of JCI Manchester tackled the 3 Peaks challenge - to climb the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales (Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Snowdon) within 24 hours.

One of our number unfortunately pulled out, but the rest of us undertook the full challenge and (despite sitting in traffic on Thelwall!) made it home in times ranging from 23:15 to 23:59:40!  Well done team!

We were fundraising for the Manchester-headquartered charity Anxiety UK (www.anxietyuk.org.uk).  We are concerned about the statistics of how many young people are silently battling anxiety, depression and mental health.  We wanted to make a difference.  As well as this challenge, we are spreading the message through seminars and articles.
