In memory of John Jefferies

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

John Jefferies was a family man, much loved and missed by everyone who knew him. To be taken away so suddenly without warning was one of those cruel blows that are dealt in life. John was visiting his mum in hospital on14th September 2009 when he was taken ill with a brain haemorrage; by 4.30am the next morning he had passed away. Fortunately his family were all able to be with him in his last hours.

This page has been set up as one of our coaches (Angie Marsh)  at John's beloved Featherstone Gymnastics Club is running the Great North Run in order to raise money for Headway, a charity which supports people who suffer or have suffered from a brain related illness. The run is on 19th September and a group of parents and gymnasts from Featherstone Gymnastics Club are going up to Newcastle to either support Angie or run in the fun run.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated in memory of such a loved, respected and much missed family man and gymnastics coach.
