Shelter's helpline has already seen a sharp rise in calls for help from people worried about losing their jobs, their homes and keeping their family safe.

While we manage the response on the ground, we are also continuously pushing for protection for renters and homeless families in these unprecedented times.

With about 12 million people in the UK currently renting privately, one million people on zero-hours contracts, and many more in unstable employment, this is causing a huge amount of stress to many households. But we will do everything we can to help those most at risk to keep their homes.
