Story

Hi all, thanks for taking your time to visit my JustGiving page.

That's my 1st fundraising, so I just try to push myself a little bit and do an Ultra-distance cycling challenge on this occasion. :)

Well, yeah. I`m just kidding. Cycling 1000 km within 48 hrs is not really something what any time & any rider does actually. So I will really have to push myself this time but I don't mind, as I really like to ride. Also, I think it's not impossible for me, because:

1. I already have some experience. I have already done long-distance rides many times (plus a few Ultra-distance rides), so I think with a good planning I can achieve my goal: to do 1000 km on my bike in 48 hours on the roads in the UK.

2. I'm in good form. In the last few years I rode my bikes especially in the Scottish mountains (as you can see on my cover picture as well), & I rode a couple of time through the mountains of Peak District National Park this year (from Liverpool & back). So I think, I can get over the mountains of Lake District National Park too.

3. I have knowledge & routine in cycling, especially in road cycling.

I fell in love with cycling approx. 25 years ago. :)

4. I will do my cycling challenge on my own (solo ride) as I mentioned before but not without a good plan. I do a correct plan about my energy consumption (nutrition), about time management (how much time exactly I can spend for eating & rest, etc.), about emergency situations (accident, break down, etc.) & of course about the route (checking how much elevations will be on the whole route, checking traffic conditions, etc.).

Additionally, I`ve already calculated the estimated cost of my challenge: The biggest cost will be to book a 'base', a place for rest (& emergency situation) for 2 nights. It's gonna be around £ 100 (£ 50 / 1 night). In point of fact I have to spend some money only on the camp (accommodation), plus on the nutrition, as I already have all the equipment for my challenge. With the accommodation & food together I think I will spend no more than £ 200 for this challenge which is a reasonable amount for this charity & epic ride.

5. I want to help other people. It's just simple like that.

As a proof of my challenge was done, I will use my Garmin Edges (I will use 2 Edges just in case) and I will upload to my STRAVA profile.

I also will make some short footage with my GoPro HERO 3 head camera and upload to my YouTube's channel.

PS: I will make some updates every week until my event, so more details coming soon about my preparations & about the route for example. Thank you for taking your time to read all of this! Stay tuned, & thanks again for your support!

Yours faithfully,

 Jozsef Fulop (aka: Hey Joe)
