Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in people’s homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This April I am going to try and run the London Marathon for Marie Curie. I am trying to raise over £4,000 for a charity that has provided support and care for thousands of families nationwide. Every year Marie Curie spends 1.2 million hours helping over 40,000 families to ensure people can spend the end of their lives in their own homes. Marie Curie's work strongly relies upon donations. I’m sure that most of you will have had a relative or will have a relative that has benefitted directly from the fantastic work these nurses do.

For the marathon itself, I intend to run it at the respectable pace of 3:30hrs. Given my track record with sport in the past, many of you will understand the size of the task ahead for me.

Any donation, however small or large, will make a difference and encourage me to keep training throughout the long and bitter Edinburgh winter.
