Story
When I was younger I once saw a little girl in a pink dress, she had very short ginger hair. I naïvely asked the girl why she had short hair and if she was a boy or a girl. In which the girl responded, “I have had treatment”. At the time (I was only 7) I did not understand and the girl ran to her parents in tears.
Many years later I came to realise that the girl most likely had had treatment for an illness in which she had lost her hair. It could be possible that being ginger this girl was not able to find a wig that matched her hair type. If she had had this wig she may have felt more comfortable in herself.
Reflecting upon this, as I too have ginger hair, 2 years ago I decided to grow my hair for donation so that other young children in a similar situation can feel more confident and comfortable about themselves in what is already a challenging and difficult time.
When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, The Little Princess Trust are there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. This is why I have chosen little Princess as the perfect charity to donate to.
